The Ames Home Builders Association is committed to helping make Ames and surrounding communities better places to live, work and raise families. We are a nonprofit trade association affiliated with the Home Builders Association of Iowa and the National Association of Home Builders. At all levels, the goal of the Association is to provide safe, decent, affordable housing for America’s citizens. Each year, the home building industry contributes to the community.

Membership Level

  • Builder members are builders, residential and light commercial re-modelers, and developers.
  • Associate members are companies related to the construction industry subcontractors, suppliers, financial institutions, title companies, appraisers, utilities, and real estate agencies. As a member, you will be able to participate in activities, affect housing issues and network with other members.

2010 Lobbying Tax Deduction for HAHB Dues
For 2010, NAHB estimates that the non-deductible portion of national dues–the portion that is applicable to lobbying is 12%.
Thus, for a member who pays their NAHB dues of $150.00 in 2008, 12% or $18.00 will not be eligible for deduction as a business expense.
